How to Add the QR Code to Your Shopify Store
Adding a QR code to Shopify is much easier than you might think. You’ve got two options depending on whether you want it on a single page or across your whole store.
Method 1: Embed on a Single Page
This option works best if you only want the QR code to appear somewhere specific, like a product page or your contact page.
- Select a Template: In the Elfsight editor, choose the template that works best for you.
- Customize the Design: Add what you want to be scanned, play with colors, text, change the frame, and even add a logo to match your brand.
- Generate the Code: When it looks good, hit “Add to website for free” and copy the code we give you.
- Open Shopify Customizer: In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your live theme.
- Select Your Page: Use the dropdown at the top to choose the page (home, product page, contact page, etc.) where you want the QR code.
- Add a Section: Click Add section, then find and select Custom Liquid (for Online Store 2.0) or Custom content (for older themes).
- Paste & Save: Drop the embed code into the HTML box and save. That’s i! Your QR code is now live on that page.
Method 2: Add to All Pages (Theme-wide)
If you’d rather have the QR code visible across your entire store, like in the footer, for example, here’s what to do:
- Choose a Template: Go to the Elfsight editor and pick the template that best meets your needs.
- Customize the Design: Add content and personalize the look of the QR code to fit your Shopify theme.
- Generate the Code: Click “Add to website for free” and copy the generated widget code.
- Edit Your Theme: Then navigate to the Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code.
- Open Layout File: Find and open layout/theme.liquid in the code editor.
- Paste the Code: Scroll to the bottom and paste the widget code just before the closing
</body>
tag. Save.
