Where to set the title and description on your platform

Most site builders have their own fields for the title and meta description. Fill those in instead of pasting tags into the page code, so you don’t end up with two titles.

WordPress

  1. WordPress has no meta description field of its own. Install an SEO plugin such as Yoast SEO or Rank Math.

  2. Open the page or post in the editor.

  3. Yoast: in the Yoast SEO panel, open the search appearance (Google preview) and fill in SEO title and Meta description. Rank Math: open the Rank Math panel and click Edit Snippet.

  4. Click Update to save.

Wix

  2. Click the More Actions icon next to the page and choose SEO basics.

  3. Fill in Title tag and Meta description.

  4. Click Publish.

How to use the meta tags

  1. Write the title and description

Watch the pixel counters: SEO tools usually flag titles over about 560 px (roughly 60 characters) and descriptions over about 985 px.

  2. Add the share image

It appears when the page is shared in messengers and social networks.

  3. Paste into the head

Put the tags inside the page’s <head>, or copy the values into your CMS’s SEO fields.
